1) NOTES FROM THE EDITOR

There are many people who volunteer their time and skills to VRG in very diverse capacities. We have people who help distribute VRG materials at fairs and conventions, people who come into the VRG office to help with the daily tasks, experts with whom we regularly consult, and many more. In January's VRG News, I asked for volunteers. The response was astounding, and I thought I would update everyone on what those volunteers have been working.

I should first mention three "tele-volunteers" who have been a tremendous asset to VRG for a long time. Stephanie Schueler not only converts VRG News for the VRG website every month, she also proofreads it, converts "Foodservice Update" for the website, and proofreads articles. Jeanie Freeman converts "Vegetarian Journal" articles for the website every two months. Bobbi Pasternak, RNC, is responsible for distributing VRG News to over 5,500 subscribers. Their assistance is greatly appreciated.

The volunteers from all over the world responded to the request in VRG News and have been helping via e-mail and regular mail. Volunteers have been working on the following projects:

Proofreading: Margaret Wolf, Deborah Davidson, Katherine Drouin Keith, Steve Maloney, Vikram Goel, Amy Stausebach, Amy Bottrell, Susan Mercy, Kathy Murphy, Jeff de Almo, Sheri Runtsch, Simone Pfuhl, Tammy Russell, Jessica Parsons, and Jennifer Femia.

Providing information about new restaurants and restaurant closures: Monika C. Pattantyus, Amy Stausebach, Jeff de Almo, Dell Lunceford, Sarah Ellis, Sheri Runtsch, Tammy Russell, Dave Stanowski, and Steve Maloney.

Writing new additions for the restaurant guide: Susan Weinstein, Laura Olsen, Dell Lunceford, and Sheri Runtsch.

Website maintenance assistance: Amy Bottrell and Dave Steibel (he updated the Non-Leather Guide and put the MD Dining Guide online!).

Created new questions for our online vegetarian game: Sarah Ellis and Tammy Russell.

Translated requests in Spanish: David Baum

THANK YOU VRG VOLUNTEERS!
